NORTHERN Uganda Rehabilitation Programme (NUREP) has donated 33 bicycles and millions of shillings to foster development in Apac.
While addressing journalists in his office on today (February 9), Assistant Chief Administrative officer, Francis Ateng said that the bikes will be given to chairpersons of Parish Development Committees (PDCs) to facilitate development activities in their parishes.
Ateng said that NUREP, through direct labour operation, was also funding a construction of Abei health centre in Chawente subcounty. He said that NUREP activities were being undertaken with financial help from European Union (EU).
Ateng, NUREP’s focal person, said that shs 5.8M was earmarked for capacity building component while shs 7.5M spent on office furniture for department offices. He noted that all the NUREP projects were under the Peace, Recovery and Development Plan (PRDP) for northern Uganda .
