Catharine Ajok and baby Happy Odonga
Catherine Ajok, 26, who was captured by the joint forces west of Duruma in DRC early this week has revealed shocking details of how her husband the subtle LRA rebels? chief dumped her when the UPDF launched the operation Lightening thunder on 14th Dec 2008.
Ajok who was captured with her one year and nine month old bouncing baby boy (Odonga) fathered by Kony himself was abducted when the LRA?s rebels raided Aboke girls school in Apac district on October 9, 1996 when she was in senior two.
"We were over 30 women of Kony and about 13 had given birth and the rest hadn't". Catherine narrated.
According to Akiiki Catherine Ajok has finally reached joint forces base after one month of wondering in the Congo jungles since UPDF gunships bombarded the group she was in, west of Duruma. The group she says was led by one ?Col. Binangi Swoop?.
She is a daughter to Dr Alfred Alyai and Licer Namataka of Aboke in Apac district.
"When I gave birth my husband gave me to Col Binany group since I looked a security problem to him (Kony) with a breast feeding child and during war time", Ajok said.
"My husband has since been on plentiful anxiety to the extent of contacting some countries seeking for asylum".
She also noted that she spent three months without seeing Kony during war time.
Akiiki said Ajok was very happy at last to see people from Uganda who are not rebels and was welcomed to the Ugandan base by Brig. Patrick Kankiriho the operations commander.
Captain Akiiki argued that Catherine was the only remaining Aboke girl in the hands of the rebel leader Joseph Kony who had put strong rings on all Aboke girls and made them his wives.
Two of the Aboke girls died and she was the only one left. She was rescued with a pregnant 15 yr old Congolese girl, Merci.
