The move stems from the incidences where the official vehicle attached to LCV office has on several occasions been intercepted doing party activities for ferrying beers in the nigh for his hotel.
Speaker Peter Ogwang says the local government act prohibits the use of official district car in the night, adding that the matter was reported to the council meeting last year.
On Wednesday evening this week a section of Dokolo councilors got the car parked at what they termed as a wrong destination at around 10 pm in Rainbow, opposite yellow house.
According to the counsillors the chairman was attending a secret FDC meeting at the resident of former Kwania MP, Tom Odur Anang in Lira town.
Okello has rubbished the allegations saying those are rumors. He denied having turned the car into a taxi.
CAO Julius Peter Odongkara says that it is upon council to pass a resolution prohibiting chairman from commuting daily from Lira to Dokolo.
“The laws do not accept, so I am waiting for the council resolutions then I implement it” CAO said.
Sometimes last year, chairman was grilled by the council on manner which he is misusing the car and not residing in the district.
RDC Ruth Adupa confirmed the matter saying this is not the first time her office is getting such a report on the misuse of the district car. She said the matter is under investigation.
