Reports from Acholi sub region that the government will soon compensate thousand of war claimants has ignited bitter confrontation between Lango UPC and the NRM leaders.

The storm comes a few days after the High Court in Gulu ruled that it is very necessary for the government to compensate the people who lost their properties during the insurgency in the North.
In Lango UPC leadership has accused Lango NRM leaders of wrongfully advising the government not to pay for the stolen cattle and other properties lost during the insurgency.
UPC Dan Okello alleged that Lango NRM leadership is wrongly advising President Museveni against compensation for lost properties and lives during dozens of insurgencies in the North during NRM rule.
The statement seems to have hit the entire Lango NRM authority. In a recent meeting, Dr. John Rickey Akeny was reportedly directed to collect and submit the data of all claimants to President's Office.
"We are working on the data and records and so soon everything will be okay", Lira NRM administrative secretary Howard Odongo said.
Odongo also alleged that thousands of heads of cattle and properties were looted during Obote's last regime.
Recently UPC parliamentary group revealed that they are compiling the data of all stolen cattle in Lango sub region during Museveni's regime.
Erute South MPJohn Odit while at Coronation park recently told thousand of Langi to remember that Museveni stolen their cattle.
