Heated debates have hit top FM radio stations across Lango regarding the forthcoming visit to the region by Rtd Col Kizza Besigye, leader of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).  People are wondering what benefits the visit will bring to the region.

The latest report from the FDC camp in Lango indicates that Dr. Kiza Besigye is set to launch a week-long tour of his political mobilization in Lango sub region ahead of 2011 general election in a week's time.

Our sources have also established that Besigye's tour is intended to give support to all FDC candidates running on different positions in the ongoing bye election.

Besigye's visit is also seen as an attempt to erode UPC party support in the region. He will tour all the five districts of Lango sub region, according to FDC sources.

This is only the second time the FDC party boss is coming to Lango in about two years. Besigye last appeared in Lango when he had come as chief mourner during the burial of the former Oyam South Member of Parliament, Okullu EPak, who died some times back in 2007.
