It seems Northern youth legislator Hamson Obua is tired of seeing his people in Moroto constituency dying and suffering during emergencies due to inadequate access to medical facilities. He has donated a brand new pick up to the area to help alleviate hardship.
The youthful NRM Member of Parliament has now been branded as the Obama of Lango since he is delivering more than the area leaders.
It was last Friday when profound joy and ululation hit local leaders from Moroto during a small ceremony to hand over the vehicle purchased at more than 11.5 m shillings at the district chambers in Lira town.
Left to Right: Ojur, Obua and Atubo besides the donated new truck
MP Obua who comes from Abako Sub County in Moroto County stated that he purchased this vehicle to help and support the people during emergencies. He says local people will only fuel but he will be meeting the cost of servicing and maintaining the vehicle.
The move has since left some incumbent elected leaders who are rumored to be salivating to contest for Moroto parliamentary seat come 2011 scratching their heads on what to tell voters.
"Nobody should involve politics in this car, it is here for everyone" Obua lauded.
Lira district chief Franco Ojur who is also eyeing Moroto parliamentary seat in 2011 and lands minister Daniel Omara Atubo who applauded MP Obua for his wisdom of supporting the local people were in attendance.
"Other MPs, leaders should copy the same from Hamson Obua, lets sacrifice for the development our home" Atubo roared.
