Hundreds of people in Coronation park Lira town were on Saturday shocked when Forum for Democratic Change party boss declared himself the president of Kampala city and Northern region.

Besigye argued that Museveni has never won any election in the city and Northern region.

"Up to today I am the president of Kampala and Northern region", Dr Besigye said. "Museveni is fake, a habitual liar and a thief who steals in broad daylight. At some stage he will have to pay back all what he is stealing and robbing from Uganda", he charged.

Furious Besigye cited state agents interference with the electoral system, bias of electoral commission, and massive election rigging as the obstacles to FDC victory in spite of the massive support that the party enjoys.

"I will crash this patrimonial regime come 2011", he added.

Lira district LCV Franco Ojur (independent) was officially received in FDC.

Out of the 9 independent MPs in Lango 5 that include Rebecca Otengo, Angiro Gutmoi, Ojok Beleo, Ben Wacha,and Cecillia Ogwal have joined FDC .

About Museveni's claim while in Wakiso that Besigye is a desperate man while he enjoys trapping power at state house, Kiza Besigye instead accused him of being desperate of stealing, eating and robbing Ugandan tax payers' money.

"I am rich because my wife has one of the top jobs in the UN but it is Museveni who is a parasite", he boasted.

"Museveni is desperate to remain in power",  he lamented during a three hour talk show on Lira based Rhino FM.
