Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president, Dr. Kizza Besigye has criticized plans by the Uganda People's Congress for pulling out of inter party cooperation.

Referring to the recent report by UPC that they would not rally behind any political party in 2011 elections, Besigye said it was an error for them to pull out of the alliance that would have helped them to regain in regions where they lack support.

He said, UPC exists only in Lango sub region but very weak and unable to organize political rallies in Buganda , Western and Eastern regions.

"Inter Party coalition could have been a vehicle for UPC to go and address rallies in Buganda , Western and Eastern where it is so weak",  Besigye said: adding that disagreement between parties on the issue of cooperation has enabled NRM to continue winning elections.

Lira district LC5 chief, Franco Ojur told Besigye that it would be hard for FDC to penetrate Lango where some people believed that UPC is in their blood.

Ojur said Besigye should develop a new approach if at all FDC was to maintain the support it had in the region because people have pending questions based on past experiences.

He said the Lango community was aware that Besigye served in the same government during the time their animals were being raided by the Karimojong and yet the problem went on.

"The Langi are aware that when LRA started rebellion you were in command and that you served in the government during the time their animals were being stolen. They even know that you contested against Museveni twice and failed",  Ojur said.
