OKODI EMMANUEL says...
Plato in his essay "Just State", he said where there is a just state, there is always freedom and liberty granted by the state, there is always freedom to participate in anything so long as it does not affect the state.
Paul Fayerbends said in a just state, every individual is free to enjoy his freedom to the extent that it does not deprive the next neighbour from his freedom. I always wonder whenever i find people saying Uganda is a JUST STATE because there is democracy. How can democracy be when actually there is no freedom given by the state, how can democracy be when on the streets of kampala is time and again over flooded with tear gas. Let me tell you people, democracy is not the best way the state should be. Instead, it is the last option of which the state should acqiure. This therefore points out that Uganda's democracy is just by name. So as we stay in uganda, we should know that there are three categories of people and the first one are those who have the wisdon of knowledge, they are those who have done philosophy and they are the one capable of becoming leaders, there is also the courageous people, these are the people who are spirited by nature like Kale kayihura, kevijinja, and all the military men.
Above all, we have the appetitive people, those whose life style is from hand to mouth. For the case of uganda, 99.99999% are spirited by nature and they think they are the one capable of becoming leaders which is possibly not.
As i finish, let us just stay. The colonialists came and they exploited our minerals and they went but by the time they were doing where were we?, did we hang ourselves? of course not. so let this current regime eat, enjoy but we shall overcome one day. If you really feel concern about uganda, open your prayer book esp "we pray and sing to the lord" for those who are catholics and sing the song "we shall overcome" and after finishing, say the last word-Amen then you sleep.
