 This is a website about the Lango people (Langi) of Northern Uganda. The Lango (plural Langi) people live in Lango sub-region in the north-central area of Uganda, north of Lake Kyoga. Lango sub-region comprises the districts of Alebtong, Amolatar, Apac, Dokolo, Lira, Kole, Oyam and Otuke. Lango Web is an independent non-commercial website that was established in accordance with Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states:

The original aim of the website was to:

  • Collect, collate and disseminate information on matters of interest to, or which affect the lives of the people of Lango in the Diaspora and in Uganda;
  • Inform the international community about the social, political and economic situation in Lango sub-region, northern Uganda;
  • Facilitate free discussion on issues pertaining to the development of Lango sub-region in northern Uganda.
